The Hong Kong Corporate Governance Excellence Awards, inaugurated in 2007 , are conferred annually by the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies (CHKLC) and the Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy, Hong Kong Baptist University (CCGFP) and are designed to encourage improvement in corporate governance (CG) of listed companies in Hong Kong.

The Awards provide recognition and prestige for listed companies in achieving outstanding commitment to shareholder rights, compliance, integrity, fairness, responsibility, accountability, transparency, board independence & leadership, and corporate social responsibility & sustainability.

The Award programme aims to:

	Foster the highest standards (i.e. beyond regulatory requirements) in corporate governance, business ethics, board leadership and sustainability in Hong Kong

	Recognize excellence of corporate governance and sustainability of listed companies that adopt exemplary standards

	Raise the level of corporate governance and sustainability in Hong Kong by showing best practices and accomplishments of listed companies

	Promote a strong culture of good corporate governance and sustainability by recognizing companies that have made significant improvements or important contributions to these areas
